Fort Pierce

Fort Pierce is the county seat of St. Lucie County and home to one-third of Florida's treasures: crystal clear waters, uncrowded beaches (dog-friendly!), vast lagoons that host abundant wildlife such as dolphins or manatees; plus, it has a historic downtown full palm trees! The city is home to many parks that have been improved over time. Some of these include Moore's Creek and Inlet Linear Park, Causeway South Beach area dog park-built with your pets in mind! The list goes on; they're all great places for taking care of nature or spending quiet hours alone under its trees while reading one good book after another. The city is home to some of the best schools in all of Florida, including St. Anastasia and John Carroll Catholic High School - both ranked among America's top ten for their respective categories by U.S News & World Report! The IRSC was recently awarded #1 status as one of only two community colleges on this list worldwide. 

Marine research is conducted by Smithsonian Institution, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institutions, and Océan Research & Conservation Association. The Indian Hills Restoration And Recreation Area clean the lagoon before entering with pristine waters safe for fishing or swimming all year-round, thanks to these hardworking individuals who maintain them day after the long work week.
